Some acronyms to sink your teeth into.

Qantas = Queenland and Northern Territory Aerial Services.

Laser = Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.

Scuba = self-contained underwater breathing apparatus.

Radar = radio detection and ranging.

e.g. = exempli gratia (which is latin for: "for the sake of example").

I wonder how many people knew the last one? I know I've used it heaps of times without knowing what it stood for. I wondered why we didn't use f.e. (for example). Got to admit its not a good look is it.
